The Type Museum


Background: Established in 1992, the museum's mission is to collect, preserve and interpret the historic artefacts associated with type.


Brief: To design an identity that will grab attention, attract funding and create greater public awareness.


Approach: The introduction of an inviting, friendly personality, 'one that never forgets.'


Result: Endorsed by the British Library, Oxford University Press, the Royal Academy, The Science Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Smithsonian Institution, it has become the world's first showcase of the art and craft of typography since the 16th century.
